We built LENSIC because we needed it ourselves.
No art school background. No professional photographer mentor.
Just a passion for photography and NOWHERE to get real critique.
So we built what we needed: an expert, honest, and constructive photo critic who actually gives actionable suggestions.
We released our first version on January 15th, 2026.
Honestly? We were really nervous.
We had created something that tells photographers the truth—not sugarcoated thumbs-ups, but raw feedback for growth.
"Your composition needs more work, and honestly, your light handling technique isn't quite there yet."
"If you want to submit this to competition, you need more excellent work."
We wondered: Would anyone actually want that?
You were there.
Since launch, we've watched photographers from around the world—those who were thirsty for honest critique—upload their work, receive feedback harsher than expected, and instead of laughing it off, pause, think, and walk away with something they needed for their growth.
That moment when honest feedback becomes a tool for thinking.
That's exactly why we built LENSIC.

Precision Scoring with Sub-genre Intelligence
This is where we truly spent dozens of hours.
Every main genre has sub-genres.
Even within portraits, a clean studio portrait isn't evaluated the same way as an environmental portrait, and a minimalist still life follows different rules than an editorial product shot.
What we did
- Automatic sub-genre detection: LENSIC identifies your photo's specific style within each genre
- Tailored evaluation categories: Each sub-genre gets its own specialized criteria
- Hundreds of calibration rounds: We refined our critique style across Portrait, Still Life, Landscape, Street, and General—testing against diverse reference images
